Secret Recipe - Coral Sands Shards

This tutorial is on how to create one of my Secret recipes. This recipe is a secret mixture of glass that I came up with when trying to achieve that stoned look for my Arrowhead beads. This tutorial is not only on how to create the recipe but also on actually blowing the shards, which is all part of the process.
This tutorial does NOT include the steps to making an Arrowhead.Note: A similar recipe will be included for free in my "Arrowhead tutorial" coming soon! Read further.
I first learned how to create or blow shards when I took a class with Jennifer Geldard a few years ago. A FREE tutorial on "blowing shards" is also available on her website as well as on various glass forums. So this tutorial was created mainly to give you my SECRET RECIPE for creating the stone look in your shards.A similar tutorial with a slightly different recipe but the basic steps, will be included for FREE in my “Arrowhead tutorial” So if you prefer to wait for my "Arrowhead tutorial" in a few days, you can save yourself a few dollars.
I decided to make this available to those who are wanting just the shard RECIPE and not interested in the "Arrowhead tutorial".5 pages & 20 Photos & step-by-step easy to follow instructions on how to create the Coral Sands Shards. Once you've read this tutorial you can use your own choices of colors to create your own special shards.

Broken Heart Tutorial!

Broken Heart $21.50

An E-Zine Tutorial

Finally another tutorial finished.
10 pages and 39 photos with step by step instructions of how to create a broken heart. Including a short instruction for creating a reactive twistie.
I started to develop this technique over two years ago and it constantly evolved as I discovered new glass and new skills, allowing me to is create different patterns and texture. I use of mainly ivory and any reactive glass in this tutorial. A minimal amount of tools are required. Marver, poker and mashers. The options are unlimited when it comes to creating your own styles and designs once you have learned the techniques.

NOTE: If you do not receive your purchased tutorial within 4 hours, there is probably something wrong with your email, so contact me if this is the case. Or look in your spam box.

The perfect heart that you've always wanted to make. Buy it soon!
This is the bead demonstrated in this tutorial.

Well another week has passed. I had full intentions of finishing my tutorial, but with trying to help build the garage shop/studio/suite, an overload of website orders and then catching some sort of bug which left me unable to focus on anything (and I still have a bit of), the tutorial didn't get finished as planned.

However, on the bright side, I did manage to start editing the photos and designing the layout last night and so it's only a matter of time. I finally stopped procrastinating. I'm actually starting to get excited about finishing the tutorial and making available to everyone to purchase here in my blog.

I think the pictures look great and I like the clean simple layout which I hope will be printer friendly to all of you. So please don't give up on me. I promise it is coming.

Some other good news for this week. I was introduced to a new bead forum by another facebook member. This is a wonderful forum and being it's in it's infancy if you get in now, you'll be more likely to have your work noticed. Plus it's just a nice welcoming place to visit, with so many friendly members. So please do check it out.

I'll attach a link to my page, then you can just click on the "Main Page" to see the whole forum.

I've continued to work on some new arrowheads as well as another new bead design. The arrowheads are selling well and I'm still having fun making them, so I'll continue to make them until the interest wears off from the buyers and or the enjoyment wears off on my end.

I'm looking forward to getting a lot done on the weekend, especially since it will probably be our last bought of warm weather before the really cool weather sets in and the snow starts to fly. As always I'm crossing my fingers for a warm winter.

Have a wonderful weekend!

On A New Path!

Funny how things change and you don't know why or how it happened.
I have for some reason, decided to revisit my arrowhead design.
I stopped making these some time ago. I had lost my need to make them and suddenly could not create them. I think in all honesty I had made so many of them that I felt like I had milked my enjoyment for making them. So I stopped.
Anyhow, I have a renewed interest and desire and excitement to create them again. As long as the buyers are interested again. If not.... then I'll go back to the same ole same ole. LOL!
It's going to be a busy weekend but I hope to accomplish a lot starting today. Lots of beads, and hopefully finish to some tutorials. I apologize that it's taking forever, I just keep running out of time. I'm trying to keep up to ebay, put new products on my website, and in my Etsy store, and keep up with orders from my website, work on the tutorials and help build the shop/studio and get some me time in (meaning exercise and weight loss). Each one is equally important so it's hard to give one a priority over the other.
On top of that theres housework and making meals and finding time for family and pets, clean my studio, .....ah the list goes on and on and on and . . . .

It's the weekend! (well almost)

So besides helping build the shop this weeken, I'll be putting as much time in as I can to completing some tutorials. (fingers crossed) It's all a lot harder than you'd expect, mainly because of not being able to find the time and energy in each day.

I made a lovely custom order set (Rosewood) yesterday and really forgot how lovely the set was, so I'm tempted to make another set like it for Ebay again, only with a slight variation to it. Plus I'd like to do another Amazonia set. It was so pretty as well and I had so many requests to make more of them. Also it would be a great intro for my Amazonia tutorial. Now if I could just find some time.
My poor website has fallen so far behind with a lack of product. *sigh* I'll have to collect my jewelry from the Vineyard gift shop (if they haven't sold it all) and put it on my website, since I just don't have time to create jewelry or gifts. I have tons of ideas! does that count? Sadly no....

New Auctions!

I finally sat down at the torch to create some beads. Ever since the gathering in Oakland (a work holiday) I haven't had the drive to create. Well that and the fact that I've been trying to help my husband build our shop/studio.

The poor guy has built our last three houses, for the most part, on his own, so I figured I'd take time away from making beads to help him as much as possible. He's building it after work and on weekends so the more help he gets the quicker it will become a reality.

Anyhow, I need to pay for my share of the building (the studio part) and can't do that unless I make some beads and sell them. So finally I've put a few new auctions up on Ebay and now that I'm in the groove of things again, hopefully you'll see more beads for sale in the next few days. So please take a look, I hope you'll find something you like. Don't forget to check my Etsy store for new additions as well.
